I woke up to my alarm and thought "Oh, it's that day" My thirteen year old son was scheduled for his braces today. We have been counting down these days for a few months now. Of course through it all you have Morgan, his fourteen year old sister that just got her braces off, so listening to her is not exactly what he wants to hear. "You know what, now you are going to see what it's like to not be able to chew gum.Oh, you just wait...You better learn how to floss 3x a day" and the list goes on. I just sit back and laugh, because I had braces as a teen. I remember all the foods I couldn't eat, and all the names I was called. Do you remember the all time favorite? "Brace Face" or better yet, "Metal Mouth" of course this is what he has to look forward to.
So he came out of the office and was like "Mom, Mom, Look!" I was like,"Wow, they look great on you, Chase." The next favorite question came, "Can we go to McDonald's for a shake?" He sure knows how to milk the system. (He got a vanilla shake) We went through all the check points of the braces, and he was like any kid, "Yes, Mom" so I shut up. I am driving home and I hear on the radio that today is National Love Bug Day. I was like, "No kidding, really?" I can't even look out my windshield without love bugs splatting and dying every one second. Wow, the rate of that makes you really think, they had to really make a " National Love Bug Day?" That is almost like the National Donut Day..I think I'd rather celebrate that day since at least I don't have to watch bugs go SPLAT all day. I'd rather eat donuts.
On another note, I got home today and Braden said to me "Watch out mom, don't step on my booby trap" I was like.."DOOOOO What?" He said "My booby trap, that's where the cops put everyone when they are bad and they go to jail."My husband said "I guess that's the new one this week" I said "I guess so"..He says some pretty crazy things for his age..I guess that's one good thing about blogging..I will always be able to remember them. Hope you are having a great week out there... Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday!
