Spring Cleaning

So I woke up this morning and realized, WOW, it is actually the first day that I didn't have to come down stairs and wake up the kids and tell them "It's school time, get up." I walked around and was like " Really?"  I couldn't fathom that school was really out and I didn't have to walk around and play hall monitor anymore. I just started spring cleaning, and couldn't stop. I was like, one lady and a mop. I started looking around and thinking " So this is really what a clean house looks like?"

Jonathan came home for lunch and of course I had soo much to tell him, he was like " You haven't had this much free time on your hands since school started." I thought, no kidding. Ha. As I continued to spring clean, I came across so many things that I haven't been able to find all year. I hope that I am not the only one this happens to. I was like " Looky here, how I sure could of used these the other day when Morgan was doing her final project." You kinda just have to laugh and continue on or you will sit and beat yourself up over it like I tend to do. I got all the cleaning done, all the kids awards lamenated for their portfolio's and I got my scrapbooking room back in order in hopes to attack some football pictures very soon, since I now have 2 seasons I am lagging behind on. When I was all done, and felt that my performance was to my satisfaction, I took a much needed break. I looked at Morgan and said " Nap or scrapbook?" she said " I vote for the nap" I was like, that's a no brainer coming from a fourteen year old that just finished school, yesterday.

I grabbed my blanket and crawled up on the couch next to my sick little Braden, which of course is my four year old, who has had a 102 fever all day from getting his shots on Monday, and I decided to curl up next to him and take a much needed cat nap. I awoke to Morgan using her very boisterous voice saying " Mom, Mom, come on, I need to go to my ortho office and get my retainers reshaped" needless to say it was 4:00 and her Dr office is 35 minutes away. I told her " Are you kidding me right now?" I was just having a nice little snooze when she came pouncing out. I told her we would go on Monday, and she said " ohhhhhhh k" and walked back to her room. I felt like right at that moment, how much sometimes I wished she had her own car, but boy do I not want to rush it. It's just some moments that you are like " Ok, drive yourself" but I do not want that day to come any faster than it will.

I decided in the pouring rain that I was going to head up to BJ's and get some much needed groceries. Morgan and I grab our purses and head to the van, when we get outside and its pouring down rain. We make a run for the van and head to the grocery. Morgan and I are a great team, we filled the cart as high as we could and the heard " Good evening shoppers, it is now 8:45 p.m and our store will be closing in 15 minutes, please bring all your final selections to the front, and we will be reopening in the morning at 9:00 a.m and thank you for shopping at BJ's." I couldnt believe it was already 8:45 and I wasnt done shopping, but I was now. I gathered my last selections and headed to the front. We loaded up the van and headed home. At least the rain had stopped. It's one of those things that you hope you dont get stuck in with groceries piled high in your cart and no bags to boot.

It's been a long, yet an eventful one, and I'm soo ready for more of them..American Idol is calling my name...
